PTO READ-A-THON FEBRUARY 1-28,2022

Aiken Elementary is excited to provide a family engagement school fundraiser that shares our love of reading while teaching children the importance of giving back to our school.

We invite Aiken Elementary families to help their children track their progress using Read for My School’s digital platform and share your child’s donation page with friends and family to raise money for our school fundraiser.

Here are some of our reading and fundraising goals for this fundraiser:

● A school reading goal to reach 132,000 minutes read in the Month of February.

● A school fundraising goal of $5,000 to support various school activities.

  • Have some friendly competition! The class with the most minutes read will get to decide their prize (extra recess, movie afternoon, pajama day, etc)

    • There will be three level winners

      • PreK, K and 1st

      • 2nd and 3rd

      • 4th and 5th

The Aiken Equity, Diversity & Inclusion parent committee is a parent-led group that is committed to creating a safe space for parents, guardians, teachers and staff to explore issues and topics related to racism, diversity, equity, and inclusivity.  We seek to welcome, understand, respect, and embrace the uniqueness of all families.  To that end, we are in the beginning stages of planning various workshops and events and would love your input.

Please complete this 5-minute survey to share what supports you may need, events you would like to attend, or any other ideas that will help us plan for the school year.  Your response will be completely anonymous.  If you have any questions or need help with the survey, please contact us at ediaiken@gmail.com.  Thank you!
